- Replacement products: Honeywell's North line of air-purifying respirators (APRs) and their associated cartridges and filters replaced the legacy Sperian/Survivair products.
- Incompatible connections: The new North cartridges use a different connection system and will not fit Sperian S-Series facepieces.
- NIOSH certification: The incompatibility is a safety issue. It is not possible to use North cartridges on an S-Series mask, as they are not tested or approved for use together.

Formal NIOSH rescission: In July 2022, Honeywell formally rescinded the NIOSH certifications for many of its discontinued respirator lines, including the Sperian/Survivair products.
